This Bookish Endeavor

I had high hopes for this book after reading so many good reviews for this series, and this author. Unfortunately, it more than fell flat.It was next to impossible for me to like the hero, "Black Jack" Kincaid. He spends much of the book being both drunk and obnoxious. While many would argue his character is just misunderstood, and rough around the edges...to me he was just intensely irritating. When he finally 'comes around' and realizes he loves Fiona and is willing to fight to keep her as his wife, I was beyond caring, and frankly couldn't wait for the book to end.
