4.5 StarsThe only thing that keeps me from giving this a 5 star rating, is the heroine. Lara is a bit too uptight and stuffy for my taste. I understand the early years of her marriage were not fun, but she seemed a bit cold to me, especially in the early part of the book. Also the "Is he, or isn't he the real Lord Hawkworth?" aspect of the book wasn't nearly as suspenseful as it could have been. The answer to that question is pretty easy to figure out quite early on. However, those minor complaints didn't really matter in the long run, since I still ended up enjoying this book immensely.Once again, Kleypas has created an intense, brooding, passionate, and romantic hero in Hunter. I absolutely LOVED him, and some of the love scenes between he and Lara are some of my favorites that I have read by this author. Not quite perfection, but another wonderful book by Lisa Kleypas.
